According to John Ssempebwa, the Deputy Executive Director of Uganda Tourism Board, a second Africa Birding Expo will be organized in 2017 with the intention of showcasing the 1057 species of birds which form a stronghold for birding safaris in Uganda.  The destination  boasts of 50% of the Africa’s bird species count and 11% of the bird species in the whole world.  Another area targeted for marketing is the Mountain Climbing adventures since Uganda is home to the legendary Rwenzori Mountains with Africa’s third highest peak and the tallest Mountain range on the continent, Mount Elgon – the fourth highest in East Africa with the world’s largest mountain caldera not forgetting the three Virunga Volcanoes namely; Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. These have got rich potential for development of Africa adventure vacation safaris in Uganda.
The destination  will continue to take advantage of the three (3) public relations firms that were hired to market Uganda in the regions of North America, Germany and UK and Ireland. Through their rigorous marketing efforts, the travelers planning safaris to Uganda are expected to increase in 2017.
The domestic tourism drive is expected to maintain the pace capitalizing in schools and other educational institutions with the motive of short and long term travel culture nurturing among the citizens.
UWA, the main public conservation body is committed to not only ensuring the survival of the wildlife that form a strong ground for wildlife tours in Uganda but also create a favorable environment for the visitors in protected areas. This can be evidenced by the plan to encourage construction of more accommodation units in the National Parks of Kidepo, Murchison and Lake Mburo.
