uganda habituates two more gorilla families in bwindi impenetrable national park

gorilla_family_ugandaUganda is one of the remarkable homes of the critically endangered mountain gorillas that are known to exit in the three countries on the global scale. Uganda contains close to a half of these Species and Bwindi alone which is a popular Uganda gorilla safari destination holds a minimum of 400 mountain gorillas.
At the moment, Uganda has been having thirteen (13) habituated gorilla families of which twelve (12) are in Bwindi namely; Kahungye, Bweza, Busingye, Nshongi and Mishaya in Rushaga, Mubare, Rushegura and Habinyanja in Buhoma, Oruzogo, Kyaguliro and Bitukura in Ruhija and Nkuringo group in Nkuringo and then one (1) is in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park another destination for travelers on gorilla trekking safaris in Uganda. Therefore the efforts to add on two more gorilla families cannot be taken for granted and thus have to be welcomed by both hands
The new gorilla families in the names of Bikingi and Bushaho are undergoing habituation for research and Uganda gorilla safari purposes. The two groups have been named after their home ranges and possess members from the gorilla groups that are already habituated. It can be noted that these two new groups are under the leadership of the silverbacks from the famous Nkuringo gorilla group namely Bikingi and Bahati.
The new gorilla families have hit the industry with surprise and have the potential to be among the most exciting gorilla families to visit on Uganda gorilla trekking safari. They contain eight (8) baby gorillas with six (6) of them in Bikingi and the rest in Bushaho.
The gorilla habituation experience involve the veterinarians engaging in regular and close group visitation and monitoring ascertaining any sickness sign or injury and then extend a hand where it is needed to save a gorilla life. The process also allows rangers to engage in close monitoring every day and report to the veterinarians any gorilla that might have been trouble by poachers’ snare of saving and immediate treatment.
The two groups reportedly exist in Bwindi south and would definitely contribute to gorilla tourism development in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Uganda in general.
