KAYIHURA PASSED OUT OVER 100 TOURISM POLICE

The growing Uganda safari/Uganda safaris/Uganda tour sector in the country was further boosted with the passing out of 185 tourism police officers

These officers were passed out at a grand function that was presided over by Lt. Gen. Kale Kayihura, the Inspector General of Police.
He enrolled the second batch of these Uganda safari police officers, that underwent training in Masindi districtfor at Kabalye police training school full three weeks.
Lt. Gen. Kale Kayihura said the specialised force is in charge of ensuring that the safety and confidence of all Uganda safari/Uganda tour travelers who tour Uganda or Safari Uganda on various Uganda safaris/Uganda tours.
Kayihura warned the public of the increased rate of terrorism across the region, and that all Uganda safaris/Uganda Tours or Uganda safari tourists are a high target to terrorists.
Kayihura said, that terrorists, target Uganda safari tourists for ransoms so as to fund their terrorist activities.
He urged the new Uganda safaris/Uganda tourism police to invest their skills and expertise in protecting that which belongs to the Uganda.
He further stated that over sh88b is collected as revenue from the Uganda safaris/Uganda tours/Uganda safari or Uganda tourism sector. He therefore urged the new Uganda tourism to apply the skills they had acquired for the country to reap more from the Uganda safaris trade.
These Uganda safaris/Uganda tourism officers were trained in the introduction to the tourism sector, its key players plus tourism laws, how to handle bomb awareness, aggressiveness and physical fitness, overview of terrorism,
They also underwent training in community policing, ideological development, hostage rescue procedures, target vulnerability analysis, operational planning, first aid, night tracking and political education.
Gen.Kale Kayihura up lauded Gilbert Baguma, the directorate of counter-terrorism, the executive director of the tourism board and Col. Charles Tusiime of the Uganda Wildlife Authority for all the support he has rendered towards the training of these Uganda safaris/Uganda tours Uganda tourism officers.
